Two Infant
Nurseries Serving NW Houston and Spring
LLL has two separate infant rooms. Though state regulations allow
babies from six weeks to eighteen months to be in the same class, LLL
believes that there is just too much difference in the development and
needs of babies with this large age span difference.
Youngest Nursery with
Individual Cribs
Linder Learning Land's youngest nursery
has a
separate play area, a sleep area with cribs (each baby has his or her own
crib) and two different changing areas - all in constant view of the
nursery teachers.
The room itself is quite large with plenty of room for rocking chairs,
high chairs, a mini-kitchen and all of the "extras" of a well-equipped
nursery. With its bright colors, varied play surfaces, and water-blue
flooring, your baby will be nurtured and loved as the soft natural light
from its four sky lights bathes the room.

Daily Reports
You will receive a daily
written report on what your baby has done. It will include his or her
eating, sleeping, and diapering schedule. How your baby is responding and
any special moments during the day are also noted.
Don't forget we have a
telephone in the nursery so you are welcome to call the teachers at any
time and as many times as you want.
Children's music, both
fun and classical, is played throughout the day which supports cognitive
development and creative movement.
Teachers constantly
interact with your baby, focusing on:
-
Language development by
talking to and reading to your baby often
-
Small and gross motor
skills by encouraging various toy manipulations
-
Social and emotional
development by interacting with other babies of the same age
-
Music, movement, and
song
Individualized Attention
Both of our nurseries provide a variety of stimulating and nurturing
experiences to help your baby have a balanced and happy day. Imitating
speech sounds, reaching for and grasping objects, and turning towards sounds are some of the many goals our staff helps
your baby accomplish. We constantly talk to your baby, touch your baby,
and interact with him or her during our every activity - from diapering to
feeding to sitting on the floor and just playing.
Older Nursery
LLL's older nursery is called
Toddler Yellow because the babies are walking and acting like toddlers.
Though technically a nursery under Texas guidelines for infants, our older
nursery is arranged as a young toddler classroom and its routine no longer
includes a morning nap nor will your child sleep in a crib or eat in a
high chair.
Learning By Doing
Your child will develop
by "doing". This is the first classroom where the award-winning High
Reach Learning curriculum is implemented. The teaching program includes a
reassuring routine, a caring atmosphere and stimulating activities -
games, finger plays, songs, dancing, playing with toys, listening to
music, and more structured teaching such as language development. Be sure
and read the Parent Information Board just inside the classroom to learn
what your child will be doing each day.
Your child will start
developing social skills while playing with children his own age. Sharing,
taking turns, and listening to directions are new skills that your child
will learn.
He will be able to play
outside on the toddler playground when the weather is acceptable and when
it isn't, he can play in Linder Learning Land's great indoor playroom with
a soft floor.
He'll eat his snacks and
lunch in the cafeteria, sitting at a special table designed exclusively
for children just his age.
"Just wanted to let you
know that you are very much appreciated! Camille and Nick love their
teachers and are happy when I drop them off and pick them up, so I know
you all are doing a great job! Thanks for all you do!" The James Family
Specially Designed
Classroom Just for Your Walking Baby!
Being extremely active with a short attention span is the mark of your
walking baby. LLL's older infant room has a large play area with toys and
equipment just right for your child. There are mirrors to look at and to
explore his self image. There are books, toys, primary puzzles and push
toys. Your baby will be coloring, doing finger plays, listening to music
(and
singing along), dancing, beginning color and shape recognition, and participating
in all of the other first primary skills.
We believe in books and
reading to children every chance we have. Reading aloud helps to develop
receptive language, builds imagination, and lays a foundation for
literacy.
