Linder Learning Land has the highest standards of health and safety with stringent policies and procedures that are reviewed and updated regularly.

Daily Exercise

Physical exercise is essential to everyone's health - especially growing children's.  Your child will take part in age-appropriate exercise activities on a daily basis led by trained Linder Learning Land staff.

A special Movement class is taught each week in our playroom starting with older toddlers.

Gymnastics is also available for children and is taught by a degreed P.E. instructor.

Menus and Nutritional Standards

Being owned and created by a mother, Linder Learning Land is very concerned about your child’s eating habits, so healthy foods are a priority.

We are all concerned about the obesity problem seen with so many adults and children today, so Linder Learning Land is taking proactive steps to help our children develop a healthy eating lifestyle.

Child-sized portions – Studies have proven that America’s “super-sizing” and larger than normal food serving portions are the cause of much over-eating and result in an over-stimulated appetites.

Linder Learning Land serves your child according to the standards set by the Health Department to help your child maintain a healthy level of appetite that will not encourage over-eating. Your child's meals will typically follow these guidelines:

• Limited sweets – Linder Learning Land serves few foods containing sugar and sweets are normally limited to holiday celebrations.

• Grains – Our once-a-week sandwiches are served on wheat bread and many of our snacks are baked multi-grain foods.

• No fried foods – You won’t find any fried foods at Linder Learning Land.

• Low-fat milk

• Variety of meats – fish, beef and poultry

• Balanced meals – we encourage children to take a bite of each item on their plate; we believe that by allowing a child to taste a new vegetable, for example, he will broaden his culinary tastes.

Breakfast

A small breakfast is served from 7:00am until 7:30am for toddlers and older children as part of Linder Learning Land’s many extras.  Children up to preschool age have a morning snack and all children have an afternoon snack.  Our lunches offer a variety of healthy foods.

Other Health Procedures and Policies

• Clean:  Cleaned Nightly by a professional janitorial service (unlike many facilities that have their teaching staff do the cleaning).

• Safe Cleansers: Hospital-approved cleaning chemicals are used.

• Food Preparation:  Kitchen staff are certified by the Harris County Health Department.

• Rigorous Hygiene: Teachers follow strict hygienic guidelines – this includes regularly washing hands, toys, cribs, mattresses, sheets and napping mats.

• Washing Little Hands:  Children are taught to wash their hands before and after eating and going to the toilet.

• Safe Food Storage: Our policies include detailed procedures for preparing, handling, and storing food. No home-cooked food may be brought for classroom events.

• Children are encouraged to stay hydrated. Each playground has a child-accessible water fountain and in each classroom, water is available at all times.

• If the weather is too hot, too cold or raining, Linder Learning Land has an indoor playroom with a soft rubber floor so your child is not exposed to inclement weather.

• Classroom staff have a master list of all children’s allergies or special medical situations.
