Three Toddler ClassroomsLinder Learning Land has three toddler classrooms. Unlike other facilities, LLL doesn't agree with the Texas state allowance of an eighteen month age span in one classroom. Why We Divide Toddler ClassroomsTexas defines a toddler as a child from 18 months to 3 years of age. LLL believes that this is not in the best interests of your child. An eighteen month old is still a diaper baby while a child turning three can dress himself, is toilet trained, and certainly has more advanced social, physical and cognitive skills. 6 to 9 Month Age Spans per ClassroomEach Linder Learning Land toddler classroom has an approximate six to nine month age span. Beginning with children just out of the older nursery, our toddler program progresses through Preschool Yellow, a classroom where the children are still two years of age when they enter the class and turn three during the school year. Your Toddler's CurriculumOur toddler classrooms teach the award-winning High Reach Learning curriculum & its Terrific Twos curriculum. Its thematic units are designed to support a child's development in the following areas:
Your Toddler's DayA comforting daily routine begins with circle time as the children gather to interact with their teachers and talk about what they are going to do today. They follow a consistent schedule so that each child feels secure in his or her knowledge of what is happening and what is going to happen in his day. Your child will play outside several times a day on our separate toddler playground and will eat his snacks and lunch in the cafeteria while learning to sit at a table with other children. Regular daily times in the indoor playroom with a soft floor will be part of his day. He will color, paste, create art projects with feathers, wiggly eyes, colored paper, and all types of art materials. He'll play with play dough and even get to make his own. He'll do finger plays and learn the songs from the High Reach Learning CD of the month. You'll receive a Family Newsletter telling you what your child will be doing and what theme he will be studying. Talking will be encouraged and vocabulary building emphasized. Looking at books, listening to story tapes, and being read to will be a big part of your child's day. Puzzles will help him learn shape recognition and a big variety of age-appropriate toys will help him develop his fine and gross motor skills.
There are no words to express our gratitude for all you do in a day let alone a week. Thanks for taking such good care of our son. The entire LLL family is very dear to us. - The Lawrence Family Contact us online or call (281) 537-9090 to discuss enrolling your child in Linder Learning Land. |
